UNACCREDITED INSTITUTION:
CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED TAX ACCOUNTANTS
(CICTA-GHANA)

The National Accreditation Board (NAB) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) have taken note of advertisements in the dailies by a certain “Chartered Institute of Certified Tax Accountants-Ghana (CICTA)” advertising for students to enroll onto its programmes and a purported graduation ceremony in Canterbury, UK.
NAB and ICAG wish to inform prospective students, employers and the general public that the said “Chartered Institute of Certified Tax Accountants - Ghana” does not have the legal mandate to award any academic or professional qualifications that may be accepted for purposes of academic/professional placements/progression. It is at best a voluntary association.

The general public is hereby informed that NAB and ICAG are the ONLY bodies empowered by law to accredit and regulate the Accounting programme/profession respectively in Ghana. Thus, anyone acquiring a certificate not recognized by these accredited regulatory agencies would be tantamount to a waste of time and resources as such certificates will remain unauthorized and useless.

The so called “Chartered Institute of Certified Tax Accountants -Ghana (CICTA)” is advised to cease all advertisements immediately and go through the required processes to earn the “Chartered” nomenclature or face appropriate legal sanctions.

The general public is cautioned to desist from responding to these advertisements or enrolling into any of the programmes. Further, any person that does business with this institution does so at his/her own risk.
